Mars Rover Model
If the outerspace geeks in your house know more about star charts than
StarTrek, they may just love the latest creation from LEGO. Teaming up with
the original Mars Rover designers at Caltech (which runs the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for NASA),
Lego has created a
Mars Rover Model.
This Mars Rover toy has 858 parts and pieces, is recommended for ages 10 and up, and is rumoured to be on the "difficult" end of the "ease of construction" continuum. It's a remarkable replica of the real thing (including fold-away solar panels, steerable wheels, and a forward arm that swings).
If the 858 pieces is a bit overwhelming, you might want to look at another LEGO Mars Rover toy -- this one has 417 pieces and includes a Delta launch vehicle with launch pad and tower, Mars Exploration Rover, and Mars Odyssey Orbiter.
LEGO, going where no toy has gone before. ;-)
Price: (at the time of this review)
$89.99
