Hi! My son is turning 3 in early August and we are having a Shrek birthday party. I have started buying different Shrek party things like plates, cups, etc. I even bought a Shrek pinata and black and green balloons.

However, I was wanting to know if you had any ideas/suggestions on how I could decorate and the different types of food to serve. We plan on doing hot dogs and drinks of some sort.

Please HELP!!

Hi Penny, check out the decorating suggestions and recipes at Birthday Express -- when you get to the Birthday Express web site, go to the Shrek 2 party supplies and then click on "Shrek 2 Party Planning Guide". They've got some game ideas and some funny (and gross) food suggestions.

For my daughters Shrek party we are doing "dirt" cake ( a combination of pudding and crushed oreos) in individual tins with gummy worms in them. I thought this would be easier and cuter since Shreks an ogre.

we are also doing the dirt cake with gummy worms. also, baskin robbins has a shrek cake and shrek ice cream flavors, that may good if it is a hot day.
you can find inflatable shrek figures on ebay. there are also some inflatable mylar balloons that are fairly large. maybe ask around at local theaters for posters that they may be discarding of the movie.
